Travel Information

Getting to the Start at East Marsh, Hackney Marshes

Full 100 km, the 1st Half (~49 km) & the 1st Quarter Challenge (~24 km) start

No Parking is available at the start venue - we strongly advise that you travel by public transport or get dropped off!

1). Drop Off Zone - Hackney Marshes Centre, Homerton Road, E9 5PF:

  • The drop off zone is at Hackney Marshes Centre, Homerton Road, E9 5PF
  • There is no parking here at all (not even short stay!)
  • Arrows & signage will direct you to the start (which is at East Marsh) - a 5 minute walk from the drop off zone

2). Travelling by train or tube:

  • Hackney Wick (overground) and Stratford International - short walk from the start.
  • Stratford International - follow Eton Manor Walk through the Olympic Park past Lee Valley Velopark.
  • This will take you over the two main roads (A12 and Eastway) and to our site.

3). Your Supporters & Parking:

There is no parking at the start of the challenge.

  • There is a retail car park (Asda) located on Marshall Road, Leyton, E10 5NH.
  • This car park is free to park for 3 hours and is open from 7:30am.

Registration: Registration will be open from 6am on the Saturday morning. We recommend that you register for the challenge at least 1 hr before your start time.

Facilities: At the start line you will be able to get yourself prepared for the challenge - there will be hot drinks and snacks as well as a coffee vendor for your friends and family to purchase from.

Drop off:  There is no parking available at the location so we recommend that you get a taxi, the tube or are dropped off at the nearest postcod Hackney Marshes Centre, Homerton Road, E9 5PF, so that you are close to the site. Once you have been dropped off continue along the path next to the river. After a short distance there will be a bridge crossing the river, once over this you will be able to see the start - look out for the sail flags.

Trains and Tube: The closest train station is Hackey Wick (overground) and Stratford International, both are a short walk from the start. If you are coming from Stratford International you need to follow Eton Manor Walk through the Olympic Park past the Lee Valley Velopark. This will take you over the two main roads (A12 and Eastway) and to our site. There will be arrows to guide you.

Parking: There is no parking at the start of the challenge. Please be dropped off or arrive via tube or taxi. Alternatively your supporters can park at Asda which is a short distance from the start. Asda is located on Marshall Road, Leyton, E10 5NH.

Getting to The Old Lido, Lee Valley

27 June - IMPORTANT TRAFFIC UPDATE!

The road over the bridge at Broxbourne will be closed stopping traffic entering our site from the west (Broxbourne) on Nazeing New Road. You must enter the site from the east via Waltham Abbey and Lower Nazing (if coming from the North) and drive westbound to the site. You can still cross the bridge as a pedestrian.

Traffice Detour

24 km - The Old Lido, Lee Valley Leisure Pool, Nazeing New Road EN10 6LX

The 1st Quarter (~ 24km) finish.

The closest train station is Broxbourne which is a 5 minute walk from the rest stop.

Facilities: At the finish line there will be hot drinks and snacks as well as your finishers meal.

Drop off:  There is limited parking available at the location so we recommend that you get a taxi or are dropped off at Old Lee Valley Leisure Pool, Old Nazeing Road EN10 6QS, so that you are close to the site.

Trains and Tube: The closest train station is Broxbourne which is a 5 minute walk from the finish.

Parking: There is a minimal amount of parking at this site. Parking will be on a first come first served basis.

Getting to Braughing

Half way rest Stop - Braughing Community Centre, Green Lane, Ware

This is the finish of the First 49km and the beggining of the Second 51km Challenge

Registration: Registration will be open from 8am on the Saturday morning. We recommend that you register for the challenge at least 45 minutes before your start time.

Facilities: At Braughin Community Centre there will be hot drinks and snacks as well as your finishers meal for the First Half finishers. If you are starting your Challenge here there will be hot drinks and snacks.

Drop off:  There is limited parking available at the location so we recommend that you get a taxi or are dropped off.

Trains and Tube: The closest mainline train station is Bishops Stortford  

Parking: There is a minimal amount of parking at this site. Parking will be on a first come first served basis.

Getting to Cambridge

100km - Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, Wilberforce Road, Cambridge, CB3 9AD

The 100km and 2nd 49km Finish.

The nearest train station is Cambridge.

Facilities: At the finish line you will be able to relax after the challenge - there will be hot drinks and snacks as well as your finishers meal.

Drop off:  There is no parking available at the location so we recommend that you get a taxi, the train or are picked up from the finish.

Trains and Tube: The closest train station is Cambridge train station which is in central Cambridge.

Parking: There is limited car parking around Wilberforce Sports Centre and will be on a first come served basis, so please organise a taxi or to be picked up.
